Summer Circus Camp 2010 at Sawyer Point - Presented by the Amazing Portable Circus

The Amazing Portable Circus is proud to partner with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and offer the "first of its kind" summer circus camp in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Amazing Portable Circus - Cincinnati Recreation Commission

The Amazing Portable Circus will offer two (2) four week camp programs. The circus camp program will culminate in an on stage performance of all campers on the last Thursday evening of each session. We are serious about teaching and developing real circus skills while having a LOT of fun doing it!

Sawyer Point offers the perfect place for camp: it is outdoors, with a great deal of space to move around, it has an indoor facility in case of severe weather, it has shady places for summer heat, recreational areas, such as the playground, roller rink and spray area, and an amphitheater stage.

Students who will be entering the third grade through the eighth grade are eligible to participate. We can accommodate children of all ability levels; since campers will be arranged in small groups, they will learn basic circus skills at their own rates with much personalized instruction.

Campers will need: a brown bag lunch (we will provide a drink and snack), and a few easy to obtain, common items. We will provide all the rest: a camp t-shirt plus all other necessary circus materials.

What will the campers learn? Basic "circus" skills, which will include juggling, tumbling, clowning, aerial skills, magic, craft making, and more!

Each day of camp is designed for fun, exercise and social interaction.  Children will learn the importance of maintaining and healthy and active lifestyle through proper stretching and exercise techniques. They will make friends along the way and learn skills they can show off to everyone.
